What Is MST?

Mountain Standard Time (MST) is a time zone that is 7 hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC−7). It is used in the Mountain Time zone of the United States and Canada during the winter months. In summer, most areas switch to MDT (Mountain Daylight Time, UTC−6), which is one hour ahead.

MST vs MDT

MST (UTC−7) is the standard offset used from early November to mid-March. MDT (UTC−6) takes effect from mid-March to early November when clocks "spring forward" one hour. The key exception is Arizona, which does not observe daylight saving time and remains on MST year-round.
